I’m currently a Big 4 GPS C with 2 YOE. What’s the minimum TC % increase you would take if you moved to an industry Strategy & Ops role? Additional context: Move would be DC > Austin Currently making $88k
Anyone else tire of the “plant mom” and “dog dad” me too conversation? It seems to be more frequent. For example, company says, “Parents, please share pictures of working from home with your kids during Covid” for a diversity and inclusion project. Undoubtedly someone responds, “what about my plant babies? 🤣”. I don’t want sympathy but I find it childish. Just give us the courtesy of understanding that plants and pets are not the same. Stop “me too’ing”
Humble Googlers, I need some advice. I’ve been working in consulting for over a decade post MBA and prior to that in industry in a variety of verticals for 7-8 years. Not a young buck by any means but am always curious if someone like me can make a transition to a company like google without loosing comp + trajectory. My background is in finance and understand business models across most verticals. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Lied about my salary so I could get more money from a company. Is there any way they could find out my current salary? 🧐
Why do non tech employers use every excuse to not get you in the h1b lottery and then every excuse to not file your green card? Is it really just so you have to work for them longer?
When do utilization rates reset at PwC?
I'm on a brand new American Airlines A321. Like brand new airplane smell. NO SEAT POWER. NO ENTERTAINMENT units. #AAssholes #ihateAA #neverAA #AAsucks
Just sent a resume for a referral to HR and he answered me “sorry we have targets so for a few months we will hire only women”. Thoughts?
Applying to banks ( Citi, BAML, JPM etc) but don't want to move to NYC which is where most of their ops are. Any recommendations?
How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.
Has anyone tried out the Branch Furniture ergonomic desk chair? If so, would you recommend it? If not, which chair would you recommend?
On h1b. Gonna give my 2 weeks this Friday. Really can’t take it anymore. And then leave country nov 25. (Have to hang around for a close friends wedding). Do we see any issues with this?
I think I asked for too low of a salary during initial interviews elsewhere. The recruiter never told me the band either. About to go into second round. Is there still a chance to ask for more?
Do you think this will change our culture permanently? We already so high tech and low touch- I'm scared it'll make it worse.
Should I take a 15% pay cut and leave Accenture for industry? Or wait it out to find a better paying opportunity? Worried about chargeability and layoffs, hate the process of getting staffed. Wondering if it's worth it though for such a big drop.
I was told by a PPED in NY today that the reasons I'm not up for partner is needing to lose weight, not being female or a diversity candidate, and not having the right family image (married with kids)
