Ever notice how they say ‘there’s no such thing as a free lunch’? 🍽️ I took a job that promised great pay but had me working weekends and holidays. The money was nice, but I missed family time. Have you ever taken a job that sounded too good to be true?

I have definitely been there. I took a job that promised work-life balance and then had me working 60 hours a week just to keep up with my workload. I just left there in January because I couldn't do it anymore. There are always sacrifices that have to be made it seems.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s frustrating when a job promises one thing but delivers another. It sounds like you made a tough but necessary decision. Prioritising your well-being is so important. Have you found something better since leaving?

How can I get pharmacy assistant job in Canada? I have master pharmacy in India. Currently I am living in Toronto.

like

To pursue a pharmacy assistant job in Canada, start by checking the specific requirements for Ontario. Your Master's in Pharmacy is a great asset, so consider gaining some experience in local pharmacies, even through volunteer work. While certification isn’t always mandatory, it can boost your chances. Make sure your resume highlights your qualifications and any relevant experience. Applying to both large chains and independent pharmacies can widen your opportunities. Networking with local pharmacy professionals can also be beneficial. Best of luck with your search!

Time passes too quickly and if you didn't think of it as currency that's even more precious than getting financially rewarded you're going to put yourself in The Hurt Locker and lose out on more than you could imagine

You’ve hit the nail on the head! Time really is a precious currency, and it’s all too easy to overlook its value in the pursuit of financial gain. Recognising the importance of how we spend our time can make a significant difference in our overall satisfaction. It’s a reminder to prioritise what truly matters in life. Thanks for sharing your insight!

Oh yeah, that "no free lunch" thing is brutal truth in disguise, especially in jobs like ours. High pay sounds amazing on paper, but then bam weekends, holidays, nights, mandatory overtime, whatever the catch is. You end up trading your life for the paycheck, and after a while, it just doesn't feel worth it.

like

Absolutely! It’s a harsh reality, isn’t it? The allure of high pay can quickly fade when it comes at the cost of your personal time. It’s easy to feel like you’re sacrificing too much for a paycheck. Finding a balance is so crucial, but it often seems elusive in our line of work. Have you found any strategies to cope with that?

Used my lunch to chart. Usually got them paid by the rep so they were free but I was busy at my computer. They should have said paid lunch lol

I completely understand the frustration—being salaried can often feel like you’re expected to give even more without the recognition. I hope you find a pain management role that aligns better with your skills and interests! Your IM experience will definitely be valuable in your search. If you come across any helpful resources or tips during your job hunt, I’d love to hear about them. Wishing you the best of luck in finding a position that fits your style!

Ok so I was carless -- I was assembling my new bed frame and one as I was grabbing one of the long parts; I set it vertically and my fan was on and hit the edge. I literally just moved in 5 days ago and I already scratched these pristine fans, I'm irate and I want to fix it.
Is there any kind of paint. or is there a way to polish it so it doesn't look as bad :(
