It has been 2+ weeks since I completed the Interview & Psychometric Assessment rounds with Macquarie Group , but yet to hear anything from them. I also followed up with HR but with no response. For the record, the interview went well. Any idea if they usually take this amount of time to get back? If I got rejected, why not communicate directly?
Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza

One secret would be to stay off Fishbowl as often as possible (I lurk when I'm bored, but). Few people go here to do anything but rant about how they hate their job and the industry is going down and they're gonna quit any day now...

There are many reasons to hate this business. But there are also a lot of reasons to like it. And sure, when luck is on your side, it’s easier to love it and when it’s not it’s easier to hate it.
But to me, it all boils down to the reasons you decided to work in advertising at some point. I genuinely LOVE solving creative problems, love the possibility of helping shape popular culture and people watching something I did and liking it. That doesn’t change if I’m laid off or if I get along with my boss or not, or if my client is a pain in the ass or not. It can make it easier or harder, but loving what I do and the process of creating will always remain very attractive to me. I can’t think of any other job where I can get someone to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars making my silly idea come to life, while flying me to some cool location to meet celebrities and eat at fancy restaurants on the production company’s dime in the process. What’s not to like about that? I don’t wasn’t for advertising, I would be unemployable for the most part. I have ADHD and I cannot do something I hate, even if I wanted to. As a creative person there are not many other things you can do that let you make a decent living. Sure, I also get to work on some shitty banners or pitches that go nowhere and it’s not like everything I work on is fun or glamorous. But that small percentage of fun projects makes it worth it to me.
Also, this is what I wanted to do. I’m not some “artist” who actually wanted to make something to be hung in a museum or write a novel but feel like I’m unfortunately stuck doing this pedestrian garbage that is beneath my artistic integrity. Nor do I feel like I’m in bed with Satan because the work I do is so evil that it is bad for humanity. The people who believe those things are jaded from the beginning and there’s nothing they can do except go do something else. If you’re not one of them, you should be fine. Just don’t forget why you wanted to work doing this in the first place.
It’s a privilege to be able to turn nothing into something for a living.
This right here. That feeling when you arrive on set and see 90 crew members making something you concepted real always hits
Whether your mentor love it or not is not the focal point. YOU have to love it perhaps for inexplicable reasons. Like romantically LOVE LOVE LOVE how it makes you feel. If not gravitate to the thing that gives you the amazing feels.
