I believe that’s the salary. I remember when AAE salary was $40k in NYC. I’m sure they will receive over 100 resumes.
It’s for an AAE. This is for a college kid who just graduated and has no experience whatsoever. Frankly, I’m glad to see them finally opening such junior roles so new people can get in the industry.
I’ve been at FCB NY and will say that they are def one the lowest paying shops I’ve even seen. + terrible WIB and a dictator CCO that plays huge favourism.
Nah, he’s great.
My salary was 38K as an AAE in NYC about 12 yrs ago, accounting for inflation, this is about the same in comparison. Lived with 4 roommates and struggled!
That’s more than publicis pay.
Chief
Salaries should definitely be higher at the junior levels. But FCB is notoriously cheap and seems to get what they pay for.
FCB underpays everyone
Relax, these Linkedin salary ranges rarely reflect the real salary. Also, you think all white people are rich. 😂
But they still pay for a global chief, creative officer to fly around the world staying at top hotels, eating at top restaurants, and posting constantly on LinkedIn about the amazing things he gets to do his expense account for award shows would save a few jobs
A manager with the reasoning skills of a teenager could save two senior jobs as well.
I started in NYC at an IPG agency as a CW in 2007 at $50k and was making $60k within the year. Was making about $75k as a senior CW within 2 years. I felt like those were pretty low even back then. BTW inflation is crazy. I set a target salary for my adult self of $85k when I graduated HS in 1995 (in 1995 dollars) and only reached that in 2024, after 20 years as a writer (18 in advertising) because inflation.
This is higher than what we pay here for an entry level AAE.
That seems to be the typical agency entry level salary and that is probably why fresh grads are turning to other industries outside of advertising, sadly.
I fired my AAE and hired an agency in Singapore who get these roles covered for a fraction
Outsourcing isn’t automation, that’s just the one-two punch of cheap labor and exploitation.
But playing along with your logic, then AE will be entry-level. Until that’s automated. Then account supe is entry-level, until that’s automated. And onward the trajectory goes all the way up to CE—oop. Guess that’ll be automated too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, trolls trolling, etc.
6 years ago, WPP paid their Assoc media people $38k starting. That is 100% truth.
Not only was $38K worth a lot more back then, but wasn’t the joke that WPP is “Why Pay People”?
Supply and demand. They’ll get some rich kid or local person who wants to get their foor in the door because advertising still draws people in and there are too many people in the industry now. People with experience should team up and find clients and start their own thing.
Eco…nomics?
Genuine curiosity- what is a fair starting salary these days? When I started it was muuuuch less. But that was so long ago it was paid in wampum and chickens.
