I don’t buy it. Account is up for review, clients not happy since 2017, then suddenly in the middle of Pride month a homophobic comment is made and the agency "chooses" to take a stand and resign? Nope.
Worked on the business for three years at a past agency. They are an AWFUL bunch. Screaming at agency partners, male leadership making female junior staff come to hotel rooms, one brand manager who would get blacked out and cheat on their spouse with every influencer in NYC. They are a disgusting and toxic team. This does not surprise in me the least bit. Every agency should run far from them.
Wow that’s horrible. I worked with Nivea years ago and while they weren’t my favorite client I am surprised.
I’ve worked with Nivea and am not surprised at all. They were terrible and afraid of bold ideas. They rejected a lot of diverse ideas and insisted on traditional ideas around their image and audience.
We need braver agencies like this! The harder the entire industry becomes on clients the harder it is for them to threaten to leave when we call them out for bad behaviour.
