It really does sound like it's time to find something better. I've seen things like that happen at companies, they get rid of someone and just expect other people to take on their duties. And it's all a cost-cutting measure, so of course they don't give anyone a raise. Get serious about finding a position elsewhere, you can do better for yourself.
It's definitely about cutting costs, and I've now realised how low I was being paid. 😭
Time for something new!
I understand what was going on at the workplace. I was doing my job, the maintennance job, assistant property managers job, that I didn't have time to perform my Occupancy Specialist duties, so I had to quit. It was really hard doing 3 jobs a day. Now I go on these interviews, and the job description says one thing, then I go on the interview it had duties that aren't even listed, plus it one title with 2 jobs in one. Been there, done that, the office can do it thereself.
And let me guess? You were not paid to take on all these extra jobs because it's apart of your "role".
But they never mentioned it during the interview! 👀
Make sure your resume focuses on your office management experience and with much less emphasis on the receptionist parts.
