Sometimes. If you’re being paid and are remote, maybe use the time to do some background on the category or client. Just browse some social feeds or YouTube or news. This is usually what you do anyway the first day or two, you can get ahead of it even without a specific assignment brief if you want to get started.
Lol this is every first day I’ve ever had at a job.
I would definitely use the that time to take bong rips and look at Reddit. Maybe hit up a long lunch somewhere in the neighborhood. You have a lot of options, this is just what I’d do. So, don’t feel guilty if you’re still just sitting there like a bump on a log.
Dunno if its typical. But I’ve been there. Enjoy it. Sometime briefs get pushed b/c strategy isn’t ready, or people schedules are are full.
This makes me feel so much better on rejecting their offer
Not mccan. LA agency.
Here's what's typical: either it takes two weeks to get your laptop or you're there late cranking on your first day
Depends. Yes and no.
Pretty standard. Sometimes they bring on a freelancer before everything for the project is fully in place.
It’s been a slow first day everywhere I’ve been. At most, maybe touch up something on a social calendar.
For long gigs, this is typical for me. For short ones, never.
