My lwd in hcl was 30th August and Yesterday I received my hold salary of June and plus leaves encashment but I didn't received the variable pay amount although my appraisal cycle was already completed 4 days before my lwd .I joined hcl on 5th may 2021 and lwd was 30 August 2022. So do you have any idea when will I receive the variable pay amount

Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

I could put up with Ryan Reynolds when he was helping SickKids. But he seems particularly smug when he’s shilling a box of barf for Tim Hortons.
Both are about the same in terms of humour in my mind. I think I was more impressed that Bieber could act. But overall I think Tim Biebs is way better in terms of a campaign-able product name. It sticks in your head. Ryan’s Scrambled Eggs is pretty lazy. (I hate that they used Ryan’s signature) This is where Maximum Effort fails in my mind. They are great at making a funny one off spots. But not so hot at bigger campaign ideas.

Interesting that this was Maximum Effort, and not Gut. I can't tell if the celebrity agency is a passing fad or the new normal.
The general public just see Ryan Reynolds who is Canadian so Tims probably feels safe in that sense. I doubt they’ll be called out. From an industry POV it’s bad mojo but they hold the power because they pay our bills. We can make all the noise we want. But the next time they go to RFP I guarantee all of us will shut up.
I might be completely wrong but I assume you don't have to be Actra if you play yourself in an ad. You're not per se 'acting'.
