Hello, which is more beneficial Master’s in Human Resources or PHR Certification?

I think a Masters looks better for management roles.

Depends. Are you interested in staying local to your community and working at a smaller firm (100-1000 employees)? If so, a PHR certification is probably better. If you’re interested in working at a Fortune 500 firm, the MHR will open more doors.

Go for a master's if you want to pursue leadership/management roles. If you are more interested in smaller companies, then go for PHR.

I think PHR tends to be more practical personally

Find myself at a crossroads . I have an offer for a role in PE but I would be giving up $20-30K in comp just to take the opportunity(lateral move). I have a lot of senior backing here in my current role in finance , and there could be some additional runway. In my 30s , just wondering if anyone has encountered a similar dilemma. What would you do?

Would like advice! Currently 21 years old, at a fintech, ~2 YOE (I did some ops work while in college), current base salary is $77K (I commute into the office 3+ days a week in NYC) with other benefits like fully paid benefits, a 4% 401K match, got an RSU grant, unlimited PTO, wifi / gym stipends and a $6K sign on bonus. The culture is awful though and I’m speaking with KPMG tomorrow. Should I switch out of my “cushy tech job” to join corporate? They’d be bringing me on as a “senior 1”

Looking for ideas for a slight "career change". I can't stand working bedside/acute care nursing anymore, officially burnt out.

Does anyone have any experience with informatics based nursing jobs, or clinical documentation specialist positions? EMR auditing? Remote jobs? Pros/cons? Do you find there are part time positions available?

I don't have my masters just my BSN/RB, nor do I plan on going back for my masters, would possibly consider a certification if really necessary.

How do you manage constant change in the sales process at a startup that should know better? I’ve been here for 6 months and up until October I was overachieving quota consistently and felt confident about my progression. Recently, mgmt made changes to what leads we can work & quota seems very out of reach. I‘ve tried to stay positive and work twice as much to show all the effort is there but I’m still worried. Thinking about hiring and how to grow a startup and when to add specific roles/what levels, and how to include leaders in the org design - any resources or bibles here?

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼

Hi Fishbowl Friends! I’m looking in to starting a masters program in 2023. Background on me - I’ve been in HR for a little over 4 years now and earned my SHRM-CP last spring. Looking for more ways to improve.

At my company we are going fully remote and we are trying to determine what “remote working best practices” we can enable for our employees.

I’m coming to you all today to ask what has worked best for you that has allowed work to be more seamless?

For example we have toyed around with the idea of “no zoom meetings unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise all communication is to take place over email/Instant Message.

Looking forward to your feedback!
