For data scientists who went from consulting to product/tech companies, how did you prepare for the move? I am a new grad with a data science masters and working as a data scientist in consulting. However, I want to work as a product data scientist after a year or two. I am not worried of SQL, but don’t have direct experience in AB testing. I wonder in this case, how can I prepare my resume and interview especially in AB testing and product sense? Thanks!

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.
