I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!
Everyone is talking about good hikes, bonuses etc. Does anyone feel that there will layoffs this year for not meeting performance. Last year, it did happen and leadership tried to cover it saying, it happens every year based on performance but everyone knows the truth that they put more people in PIP and then forced exit than the other years. What's your take this year.
For anyone that transferred offices, what was the entire process like? Who did you speak with to push it through, did you have an interview, did you get time off for the move, what was your adjustment
I am a biology graduate. I worked in cancer research and development for more than two years. Recently moved to Canada, and now I'm wanting to transition into clinical research.
Most jobs I find online ask for atleast 2 years clinical experience.
Does anyone have any tips on how to procure this experience? Should I invest in a course? Or should I volunteer at a CRO?
I recently got offered a clinical admin position, would this count as clinical exp?

I recently applied for a role as a manager in Nikes EMEA branch I received the automatic mail from the application portal acknowledging receipt of my application then received an email from the talent acquisition partner a week ago also acknowledging receipt and confirming that they are reviewing my application and will send me an update as soon as they know more. It's been a week and haven't heard back. What would be the next steps? How long is the nike recruitment process?
I was interviewed for Java developer, the interview went really well.
I have asked them for 9.5LPA, my current CTC is 6.5LPA.

When you go for a mid day interview, do you take anything? Like a resume binder. Is it obvious as you leave your current job that you are going for an interview?
Seeking a fully remote HR or recruitment/talent acquisition role that can be Canada or US-based(dual citizen), preferably that offers experience and growth opportunities to learn more about both sides of the border. I am a dual citizen and have 4+ years in Canadian HR-related roles with SHRM-CP and CPHR designations. I can DM my LinkedIn profile on request. Thanks in advance!
I did alot of online courses and it hard to remember all those and interview now a days are really tricky .. Let me start with an example
I used HuberRegressor on my data and i know i read what will it do to my data i added that to my resume 3 years back now what so ever i am doing someone just asks me HuberRegressor and just telling him it is bases on L2 regularisation and robust to outliers is not enough.
I am struggling to fight alot of biases in interviews
I was recently fired from a company for losing enthusiasm over the last few months. Part of my loss was due to being seriously talked down to by my male coworkers. I would ask a question to said one in particular and instead of just answering me he would explain the scope of the project like I hadn’t been working on it for weeks etc. There wasn’t an exit interview or a warning I was just fired on the spot. Should I say something? There are 6 employees, one female and they speak to her similarly
I have 6 YOE in. Net+Angular and got an offer from Legato Health Technologies with 20 LPA Fixed, i joined Infor just 11 months ago with 12LPA Fixed and i will get the hike in August. If i resign now i will not get hike and i am a critical resource in the project, i guess Infor might try to retain me by matching offer. What should i do? Should i resign ASAP and not negotiate with Infor . I have all these doubts because Infor is a product based company.
at Google, Design position which is the best mode to work: annual or hourly mode of employment?
Went on a final interview today and the interviewer yawned through my presentation, was so BRUTAL with feedback, and was just super low-energy. This dude picked apart my entire presentation and frowned through all of it. Up until this point, everyone that I interviewed with said the presentation was great, but some things that need improvement. I just don’t understand how it’s normal that it’s expected that you make presentations and work for free— just to have someone take a huge shit on you.
Where are all the great jr. creatives coming from? Are you hiring out of state or are they mainly Denver/boulder based What’s your process for determining talent outside of having a great book?

If you have an opportunity to go in house after 1.5/2 years in big law, is there a reason not to take it?
Advice needed. I work in house at a science/tech company in LA. 1 YOE (graduated 2021 & passed bar), and gaining commercial and government contracting experience. I’ve been working from home from a different state for the past three years. The GC and AGC also live and work in different states and fly into CA as needed. Recently the GC (who I have a great relationship with) mentioned that she wants me to get some experience w/classified projects which would require me (continued in comments)…
When an in-house recruiter at another company cold-emails you, is it fair to ask them for the rough offer range in your initial response back (to avoid wasting everyone’s time)? Or do you owe them the courtesy of taking at least a screening phone call and asking then?
I'm getting promoted and will have (an) employee/s. I have never been a manager before except discreet projects. Can anyone recommend an online, book, etc to teach me how to be a good boss? Panicking!
Generally speaking, are there in-house positions that would specifically want policyholder-side insurance coverage litigation experience (biglaw pedigree if that matters)?
Hello, hoping for some input on how to time a job change. At a startup - we are doing well now but unless we have complete turnover in management I don’t think we have a bright future post-COVID. I could coast here 1-2 years before having to look. I’ve been here for a little under a year. This is my second in house job after 10 years at the same firm. The market is hot now, probably won’t be in 1-2 years and I am getting interest for good roles. OTOH I don’t want to look like a job hopper.
Received a great offer and planning to resign. Do I have to let my employer know which place I’m going to join next? Currently work for the local government full-time. Thanks!!
Vanity Marketing Mags (e.g., Vanguard Law)
Anyone done a feature for Vanguard Law or similar? How did that work out for you? Did your outside counsel receive a shake down to sponsor the piece?
I have been stiff arming Vanguard for years but am curious if there’s any actual benefit. Or at least funny stories.
Junior Partner, been in working litigation at defense firm for 10 years...but I'm really starting to burn out and would love to transition to an in-house position. My concern is that I have very limited experience with transactional work. Advice for applying and interviewing for in-house gigs?
Was told I was one of a few final candidates for a role, and that they were going to be ready to make a “very hard decision” by the end of last week. Have not heard anything. Safe to assume they made an offer and I’m just being put on hold until that person accepts or declines? Worth reaching out to the recruiter or pointless at this point?
Seems privacy is a high growth focus at in-house legal teams these days. I think there are plenty of reasons to enjoy that practice (e.g., dynamic, growing, etc.). But what do you NOT like about being privacy counsel? Would love to hear from current privacy counsels out there!
Tax counsel jobs seem to be rare, compared to the more common tax senior analyst/manager/director roles. Anyone have any insight into compensation and whether companies put a premium on JDs? Looking at HCOL areas for 5-8 yrs of exp and want to understand reasonable salary bands.
Looking at Exective Director roles at JPMorgan Chase. What's the realistic salary/bonus range? Also what's the typical YOE required?
Can we get a list of companies than are not FAANG/MAANG but are close to or as good in terms of comp and experience? I get that Meta beats the market in terms of comp, but honestly most people I know wouldn't work there these days. Amazon doesn't have rep problems but seems to have lost it's 2010's luster. Netflix is finally facing legit competition after years of domination. Google and Apple are great but are huge now. What's the next generation of FAANG?
Anyone know the percentage bump one can expect between Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel?

Assuming a typical week (without unusual emergencies), how intense hours wise is the role of GC in a roughly $1 billion company? I have an opportunity I’m considering. Thanks.
I entered law school in my late 30's as a second career. I have strong pre-law experience (Executive of small company, 60 employees, $4m budget, MBA, etc.) and law school credentials (Top 10%, Managing Editor of Law Review). I'm willing to make less coming out of school than I did before, but want to ultimately land as in-house counsel with a decent wlb and make $200k+. I'm looking for advice on the best path to get there and how long I can expect it to take.
