Larsen & Toubro Infotech Hello Everyone I want to know the work life balance in LTI. I've heard that the culture is like BPO you've to spend 9 hours in the office even if your work is completed. They are very much strict about timings. If you're login time is 10 it should be 10 if you login at 10:15 you need manager approval. The projects are also of supports? I'm selected as Java developer in Lymbyc(LYM) Bu. Please it would be really helpful if you guys give me some insight especially Larsen & Toubro Infotech L&T Techn

I wasn't on PIP but in a prior position I could feel my manager working up to it.
She was micromanaging, her expectations were unreasonable and at one point I kind of went off on her out frustration.
I felt the same as you it made me question every decision I made and became more about whether she would find fault that doing my job. So my performance actually got worse before it got better. But even when I was meeting a goal, she seemed to manufacture shortcomings
The only thing that saved me was they started a new team and a former teammate was promoted to manager and asked for me to be on her team. She refused to continue the weekly meeting and let me do my job. And within a year I was officially promoted.
Happy to hear that you were able to find a company who truly saw you for what you're worth. This company knows the workload is exploitative but they're also one of the only remote work employers in the province so they're using that to leverage these harsh work conditions and penalizing people who can't keep up. I hope my interview goes well tomorrow. It would be so satisfying to tell my current manager that I'm moving on. Thanks for sharing, hope everything else is going well.
Do you feel the PIP is warranted? Might be a means of trying to push you out. This has happened to me once my boss was fired and a new VP took over. If you feel it is not warranted and your manager is being difficult then I would be proactive and look somewhere else. Unless, you feel you can speak with your manager and try to come to terms with all this. Good luck!
You are most welcome! Good luck on your interview and continue to aggressively apply as a back up. It does not sound like a healthy environment and you deserve better. Do not settle, if you do not have to. Sorry you are going through this. Take care.
Hard to say without more context but what I will say is that a manager being “out to get you” is very real. You mentioned they were “difficult” so I’m wondering if they might be the type of manager who isn’t interested in setting you up for success, is maybe threatened by you, and is displaying other toxic behaviors towards you. Whoever your manager reports to might be able to help you manage the situation depending on how good a leader they actually are. It might be best to start looking for another role.
I acknowledge that I have had my shortcomings but I thought I was the sole cataylist for her acting that way. Now that I've given you some more context, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that feels that her behaviour is unreasonable.
Lots of factors here potentially that could be leading to this. I’ve also experienced similar situations.
I would say to look at the problem holistically - what is in your control and what isn’t?
Do they just not see you fitting in?
Is the company in financial distress?
Are you a minority? (I’m sorry to say this is still a factor as it was with me).
The first thing I would do is to take the initiative and book a meeting with my manager and open transparent communication.
1.Share your concerns.
2. reaffirm your commitment to the company and your team.
3. Specifically review performance and get specific actionable guidance on where/ how to improve.
4. Document the above - ask for support from the wider team where you need it. People generally are appreciative of those asking for “help”. There’s no shame in it whatsoever, regardless of how experienced you are.
Good luck and I hope it works out for you.
It's a toxic environment. High salary so they can exploit us. I'm working on getting out of there. Thankyou so much!
It happens. Usually it’s a result of a cultural or organizational shift that trickles down to the management and your pip is an unintended consequence. At my current job they’re doing it and the rumor is there’s pressure from senior leadership to manage people out and reduce headcount since we’re not meeting numbers and they don’t want to deal with the fallout of a RIF. Don’t take it personally, keep cool, keep calm, and keep your options for employment open.
Thankyou! I was terrified because I'm a family man and I dont want my family to pay for it. It feels like I did this. I am 33 now but I've been employed since I was 16 and I've never been terminated. The thought or possibility of that happening is terrifying for me.
This just happened to my daughter literally today. She was put on pip then let go. It seems to me they just wanted her out.
Sorry to hear that! I hope she lands on her feet! Take care
Real question, what constitutes being put on a PIP as an adjuster? How are they measuring performance?
This is going to sound ignorant, but I truly feel like companies don’t like adjusters who are actually good and write what is owed
If I generally enjoyed my career, but not the company, I’d likely take all the time off I had left when the PIP hit and focus all my energy on finding a new company to work for. Especially after reading those first two sentences. That’s just me though, I hope it works out. Best of luck to you
I was put on a PIP when I worked as an adjuster at the last company I worked for. I guess enough insureds complained enough to where it caused management to put me on a PIP. My manager didn’t necessarily agree with the decision but it was out of his control. It DEFINITELY rocks you a bit and makes you second-guess everything.
You may not have done anything wrong. You may have a target on your back due to pension, higher salary than average, or you boss wants to hire a friend into your spot. Look for another position. The fight isn't worth it.
