You’re a BCGer, think it through.
1) evidence is pretty clear that risk of transmission through touch stuff is low. So the food itself isn’t a problem unless your waiter is sneezing in it.
2) evidence is very clear that the best way to catch Covid is by breathing the same air as other people. Indoor spaces are bad. Masks help.
3) therefore, the risk involved in tented outdoor dining entirely depends on what kind of tenting you’re talking about. If the tent is just overhead cover that’s open on all sides with a breeze blowing through it, it’s probably ok. If the tent is basically just recreating an indoor space but outside, it’s almost certainly not ok.

Sometimes, studies aren’t needed to show how dumb an idea is.
We can’t live in a bomb shelter the rest of our lives. If you don’t feel safe eating in the tent then don’t go.
Agreed. There are some people who, when they dislike something, choose not to partake in it. Then there are others who, when they dislike the same thing, demand it be banned. The same logic can be applied to COVID, as the people who are too scared to leave their homes are making such lockdowns and restrictions mandatory for everyone. It’s absurd.
The main thing is fresh air coming in and stale air going out. If this is achieved then you’ll be ok.
