Yes and no formal warning - just months of telling everyone it was mandatory and if they were compliant. But never overtly saying you may be terminated. Then one day without telling any leads or day to day mgmt let 50+ go. No saving, didn’t matter how critical you were to the business or if clients were upset.
Publicis
Publicis Media let go of a bunch of people for this in October 2024.
100%
Yes. A ton of folks last year, and they were fired for non-compliance so they get no unemployment.
No I mean no unemployment. They don’t get severance either. But if you are let go for noncompliance, you’re fired for cause and that negates unemployment.
Yeah, even if you have exemptions or have had discussions with HR about it they’ll have you marked down to be laid off early lol
Publicis fired a bunch of people earlier in the year for it. They want 3 days a week, obligatory mondays and you can’t work two days in a row from home
A little unrelated but still applicable. I had a job I hated once and I was sneaking out a little earlier to take interviews. Like I’d leave at 4:30 instead of 5. I think they got the hint. I got a sit down once. Did it again, then formally written up the second time. Did it again, since I was looking for a way out.
I got terminated without cause. 2 months severance. And 9 months unemployment at 55% my pay.
Worked out for me!
I think you’ll get disciplined, or terminated but unless it was gross misconduct you’ll still get unemployment benefits, notice/pay.
That’s not how rto is working.
Nope not here.
I have not heard of anyone being disciplined at Omnicom, other than a call from HR. Apparently it’s up to your agency president if you get in trouble (?)
