For those who have left Google — have you ever given more advance notice of your leaving and then built in 1-2 weeks of vacation on the back end (eg, to get through another stock vesting)? Put differently, is there any issue with giving 3-4 weeks of notice and making the last 1-2 weeks vacation?

Completed onsite interviews for the TAM role and recruiter gave me feedback that my technical depth wasn’t up to par for the role but my googleness/leadership and GCA interview feedback was stellar so they plan to propose me for Cloud PM roles instead. Does this happen? Or are they just being nice? What’s the probability that they’ll match me to another role?
