I was absolutely miserable and burnt to an absolute crisp at my last agency, but was too scared to jump ship. I was blessed with being laid off, took 7 months off and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Yeah I was hired in-house at 50k more than my last position. 2.5 years in and I’ve never been happier.
Haven't recovered, still in afterburn... Mad Max type thing. I think it's the new normal.

I’ve been lucky enough, or maybe tolerant enough to begin burning right before my vacation. I try to reserve a good two week block each year to completely disconnect, and it helps a ton.
Usually even working on my own design stuff on weekends feels like a good cooldown.
