For those who have worked at non-profit clinics, how do you stay afloat? Are grants common? Do you rely entirely on donors?

We definitely don't just rely on donors, it's not really advisable to rely on a single source of funding since it's better to diversify where income is coming from

That being said, funding can come from a variety of sources which include payment for services, donations, memberships, investors....

This article is not specific to clinics but it's a good breakdown of how finding works: https://learning.candid.org/resources/knowledge-base/how-are-nonprofits-funded/

Just like regular clinics, we gotta charge for our services to keep the lights on and pay employees

Maintaining a non-profit organization is not easy, but it can be done. It doesn't necessarily have to be just donations. You can make fee-for-service and/or product sales, you can do fundraising events, you can also seek help from government entities. Another thing you can do is that you can rent your venue for other temporary events.

I have worked at non-profit clinics for most of my career and have found that it is important to maintain a diversified funding stream. Grants are common, but they are not the only source of revenue. Donors are critical, but it is also important to have other sources of income, such as fees for services or products. Clinics can also seek funding from government agencies or private foundations.

I have worked at a number of non-profit clinics and I have never had to worry about staying afloat. Grants are common and donors are always willing to help out. It's a great feeling to know that we are helping people who really need it, and that we are doing it without having to worry about money.

So, some of my co-workers simply said that they want to go ahead and start something or start looking elsewhere (career change) because they don't know how much it will last at the pace we are going in regards to case intake and pay out. Should I start panicking or simply start looking elsewhere? They even they even told me if I was looking elsewhere or planned on doing so also. I found it weird in a way.

What’s a good LA or NY business litigation firm and salary to expect? I’m a 2yr with quite frankly a lot of experience across civ rights, PI, excessive force, wrongful death, employment defense, K dispute, corp. structure dispute, professional licensure. Write every kind of brief, appeals, argue motions, take depos. Am the only associate working directly under partner on all cases. In house or M&A/Real Estate Transactional are likely the end goal but want to get the litigation out of me first.

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.
I’m really struggling handling the symptoms and maintaining my full time job. Thinking about looking for a part time job to have more time to myself through the pregnancy since I won’t be getting a paid leave anyways, but lost on where to start looking. Any recommendations?

I am currently expecting, have informed my team. Since the organisation is in hybrid mode, when discussed earlier i was told that it is flexible in terms of wfh depending on my health condition. But now my department wants me to be in office twice a week irrespective of the prior discussion. Still half of the office is on hybrid mode. Is it a fair ask?
