Frustrated by EOY evaluations and lack of transparency from my manager. I was told when I started a new role in September that my metrics from these first months would not play a role in my raise. When following up with my manager about why my raise was 20k less than my colleague they told me it was completely based on my metrics when I know it’s based on having started in a different department. My metrics are the same as theirs and I do more above & beyond work. Do I stay?

I just accepted a new job offer and will need to give my notice soon. I work for a tiny startup and fill a high-level, critical role that no one else currently working here can do.

Now the next default milestone year is set after 4 year for next level promotion. What is the motivation factor to remain in firm when you already know you won't grow for 4 years?

Pro tip: finding it hard to disconnect while working from home? At the end of the day, actually power down your laptop and pack it away in your bag with your power cords,mouse, etc. same you would if you were leaving the office or traveling. Need to take it a step further? Also disable your email/Skype notifications on your phone so your not tempted to check them immediately.
