There is no need to call out chor company only for this reason as in India most of the companies will have insurance premium as a part of ctc. Also it will be very less amount right may be 10 to 20 k per year ..it should not hurt much
IBM also does same I think, it is company policy even HR can't help in this.
@hospibiz I got your point but I would suggest to not get over hyper with this. For your knowledge the actual insurance expense which company incurs on your behalf is close to 25k while your actual deduction would not have been more than 4-5 K, correct ? Also EY GDS has a policy of 80:20 which means employee would be deducted for 20% while the rest would be beared by the company, so they are not doing anything unethical here.
However, if HR told you that no deduction would be made from your payslip than it's clearly the fault of HR & nothing can be done about that. Since the amount is pretty small & company is doing what is there in their policy, I don't think there is much more need to create noise for this✌🏻✌🏻
My premium expense would have been zero, had I not left my previous firm by listening to the liars of gds. In my previous big 4 firm, openness was key and is missing totally from EY GDS. Also in my previous firm not a single penny was deducted from employee for premium.Thats the point. The amount is not of importance here. Ethics is missing from ey gds people. If HR are communicating wrong information, its because they are lying for a reason. Overall my exp with ey gds is quite negative. And this has happened not only with me but many others. So, they have not only lost my trust but also of many others..
Confirm with ur hr on the 1st sentence- “standard insurance” word is not mentioned. I confirmed the same with recruiter and she told me that line is applicable only if I opt for extra coverage. Thats why I am saying that the wordings in offer are vague and recruiter lied. All in all a perfect recipe for chor company. And this I am saying after speaking with other new joinees, all of whom were communicated that there will be 0 premium paid from employee pocket. Anyways I would suggest you not to join EY GDS if u have other offer.
How much amount are they deducting for insurance every month?
That's right! They are chor.
I was also surprised to see the premium being deducted.
Really pathetic practice!
Deloitte
It's just deducted from your very first salary next salary won't have insurance deduction.

Have they mentioned this in offer letter?

Don't know why you go to HR word because in your offer latter which is directly mention all things
I hope you read offer latter before accept
Group medical insurance mentioned in my offer letter has 4lpa covered. It also mentioned in comments that:
1. There would be an employee contribution for standard insurance ( read 3rd sentence that says, there would be an employee contribution)
2. There is additional top up coverage options, where entire amount would be paid by employees
3. Life insurance and accident coverage is paid by firm 100%, not medical insurance premium
Please check your offer letter and confirm the wordings. I am sure it would read the same. I am joining ey by Jan end 2022.
I have talked to hr regarding this. Thay said its insurance processing fee and will only deducted in first salary of very less amount.
Yeah I completely trust you when you say that you would have not joined the organisation if HR would have told you about the insurance deduction of 4k from your payslip since that would have been 0, had you not changed your employer 😂🤣
I mean c'mon me & you both now that you would have already negotiated a good hike as a motivation for joining EY which is completely fine I believe, but do you really think that organization who has already agreed to pay you few additional lacs can become rich by purposely not telling you about that penny deduction.
As far as your trust is concerned, it is about how you look at the things, When I joined the firm 1.5 yers back they clearly mentioned that there would be small part of insurance expense which I will have to bear & I was good with that thing, but as in your case, have you ever thought that the HR who was involved in your & your colleagues hiring process, what's his/ her experience level? how old that HR is in EY system? did you ever considered that the particular HR might have communicated that wrongly, do the HR's not have any right to make any mistakes in their jobs just like you & me makes in ours at times.
You have a right to be disappointed & raise voice regarding this matter through proper means if you think this is significant thing for you but in any case bad mouthing the entire organization & saying it as "chor company" on a social platform & that to within just a month of joining is completely wrong & quite immature on your part to say the least.
What is immature is the head HR signing on an offer letter with vague wordings. The hike which I got from ey gds is nullified by the incompetent ppl around. As i have said previously which I believe u didnt catch is that money is not the factor. It is the intent of keeping information hidden. Cmon u feel that a HR who has been given the right to negotiate a candidate’s joining doesnt have experience? Even after joining I have witnessed multiple cases of lying and hogwashing. This is the ey gds culture. No questions about it. What the company is losing is trust.. and ppl fast..faster than they are recruiting. Oh and I am not starting about the 500 rupees internet payment. What a joke ey gds is!! All said and done, my views are proper, to the point and on the correct platform. And be rest assured, as u r part of assurance, the no of ppl in the same boat as me is corroborated by the likes on this post
Since you have so much problems with the organisation within just a month of joining & have already made your mind about this & already bad mouthing as much as possible from your end, my best advice for you would be to not continue further with such chor, pathetic organisation & go ahead & press the exit button on Success Factors as a first thing in morning tomorrow. I am saying this for your own sanity considering you are so much pissed within a month of joining so I wonder what would be your sanity level within next 6 month. Go ahead, have some spine & press exit button without thinking much about whether you have some extra offers/ opportunity in hand to negotiate since there is absolutely no point to work with the employer even for one extra day who is a chor, just lies to you about petty things, filled with bunch of incompetent people & is extremely pathetic.
Hope you get cool down tomorrow once your notice timer begins. All the best ✌🏻✌🏻

Hi Author,
What’s your YOE and tech stack?
Bhai, 10 saal aur microsoft
I've worked with EY gds for more than 5 years, surely there's a lot of negativity built in past 2-3 years , esp regarding pay, hikes, quality of recruitment etc, and as far as I know it will get worse if the management doesn't do anything urgently..
A small amount was deducted for insurance from the employers pay, and it's bad they didn't mention it to you while joining..
If you feel so bad about insurance only, you might feel much worse when you start working on projects and the pressure and policies on promotions etc.. my suggestion is don't think much , gain experience and if you feel it's not worth the efforts, please try outside GDS,. Don't get stuck on for more than 3yrs..
Nothing unusual, that's why it's often said humans are most complex creatures.
Guys, please advise me!
I had interviewed for a role in Deloitte. After the first interview itself, the HR told me I was selected and post that also for the next two days I was being contacted to ask my referral fill my details on their portal. I also confirmed from the HR, that's it's surprising that I have been selected in the first interview itself, she said that yes, both the people who took your interview and have liked your candidature so they have decided to select you in one round itself and now we will begin your onboarding and once your details are uploaded on the portal we shall have a salary discussion. However, Since my referral was on leave, she filled the details two days later and then the block leave period started, from 25th dec to 2nd Jan. Later when I contacted the HR for asking her for further process, she straightaway said that I mistakenly said that you were selected, I wanted to say that you are short listed for another round. However, they have still not contacted for another round. I am feeling cheated and frustrated.
Please advise what needs to be done in this scenario.

Companies should start recording calls of HR recruiters. Candidates also should not believe anything apart from what's written in the offer letter.
These HR recruiters has hiring targets and they are as similar like any tele caller sales agents. Where many will be very genuine and will not talk anything fake but still there are alot who fake promises
Paper daal do bhai 😁😂🤣
Itni badiya company me, itna hike leke tum jam nahi paaoge 😁😂🤣 .. 2-3K k liye chor chor kr rhe ho 😁🙏🏼
Exactly my point, well said 👌🏻✌🏻
Generally company pays the premium. Dont know if they have changed anything this year 2022.
