GAP IN PRACTICE ON RESUME -- Ideas on framing it are most welcome. Missed the comments on a recent poster's similar question. Of course, all practice gaps are unique. In my case, after 10 yrs in BigLaw, I immediately leapt into the flourishing firm I had long prepared. My gap in practice happened yrs later when I fought for my life in an invasion of my office/murder attempts/hostage situation. I recovered but it took years to learn to walk, speak, and write again. Want to appear strong for it.

I’m sorry I don’t have advice but I want to say how sorry I am for that horrific experience. I’m glad to read that you are recovered.

Wow! Thank you! I'd been training for Marine Corps JAG Reserve, which is one reason I was finally able to escape that night. Experiencing violent crime, no matter how chill or appropriately anxious you act afterwards, you'll find the well documented studies to be correct: It is a way to instantly lose your ENTIRE support & peer circle. Hearing something so accepting and generous from you brightens my day and boosts my hopes for the next stage of my career.
