Gets asked to keep the utilization high but once you do charge proper hours, you get let go cause you’re killing the budget and the client doesn’t want to pay

Who in the world comes up with these logic and models?

I’ve ate hundreds of hours over the last year. It is what it is. As long as utilization stays above 70-75% you’re good.

^agreed

Idk. I’ve never ate or been encouraged to eat an hour. PPMD’s fault if they didn’t charge enough/push back on out of scope requests

helpful

Same

Never eat hours.

Yes - I’ve never taken that to mean eat your hours, but to raise your hand as soon as you arent being efficient with your time.

Eating hours does nothing for your career when you are young. When you are young, people care about your utilization and progression. As you move to manager/senior manager and above, it’s less about utilization and more about realization, client service rating, and marketing growth
