I’ve recently left the world of consulting and joined a tech startup and my role is to build partnerships with consulting companies and SIs. My working hypothesis is that referral bonuses won’t be enough of an incentive in formalizing a partnership with the likes of Deloitte Digital. You all make your money on implementation but our product is pretty simple right now and easy to implement. How else can startups create relationships with you? We want referrals & for you tell clients about us.

Hi. A bit new to audit and have a question on a report's opinion.
I came across a somewhat old auditor report (from a very small auditing firm) that listed several instances where employees misappropriated assets within its schedule of findings, yet the opinion was unmodified. Is this fine? I would think it'd affect the opinion not knowing everything that was misappropriated. Could it be that the auditor felt comfortable enough on how much they identified and that lowered the risk?

Are we allowed to expense part of our internet bill…hearing mixed things and can’t find policy.

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. So confused how this works and got conflicting information from Merrill.

I made a mistake in the tax filing- filed an 1099 as long term gains instead of short term gains but have attached the correct 1099 pdf with the return. Am I in trouble? Should I Wait for the IRS letter to amend/audit or proactively amend myself?

I accepted a role in New York City but my direct manager said I can work from home in Boston instead. My understanding is that I would be paying NY taxes, but not MA taxes. Can anyone here confirm? Also, would my employer have to incur any additional taxation because I am remote? They’re a really small firm and I worry that this sort of thing could be prohibitive for them despite my manager’s approval.

I quit a small PA company to join big4 but my manager here is picky and she fixed everything that I did to her way. Now old manager asks if I want to come back if she matches the salary. What should I do? Yes I like my old manager, team and it was so comfortable back there. I don’t like big4 timesheet and the reason I left my old company because of I moved to different city. But now old company can provide wfh as well as big 4 I’m working now. Can someone give me advice?
