Here’s a tip: Don’t go

like

No wait black... definitely black

like

Don't use your phone at the tables (stand up and leave for a hand if you need to), learn the hand gestures for games (esp for blackjack), tip the dealer every once in a while, tip the waitress for sure. That's all that my hungover ass can think of atm

like

For Blackjack: just assume the dealer’s hidden card is always a 10. So if they hold a 3,4,5,6 face card, you should always play like they’re gonna bust. Double down (on 11s and soft hands) or split (not 10s). If they’re showing a 7, assume they’re holding 17. So if you have two 8s, you can split and hope for two 18s. If they’re showing a 9 or 10 and I have two 8s, I’ll just take a hit and not split because I rather lose one hand than risk losing two. Always take a hit if the dealer is showing 7 and up and you’re below a hard 17. These are good general guidelines to follow for newbies. And as always, don’t play with more than you’re willing to lose. And if the dealer wins like 8 hands in a row, gtfo

Always double down the 11s and always split the 8s

It’s ok to ask for advice at the table games. Also fine to check with dealers on rules. Don’t touch your cards until the dealer is done

like

The last person is the anchor meaning they need to keep the count of how many high cards are out. If the count is low, the likelihood of a dealer going bust is higher. If you’re a novice at black jack, sit in the first seat to the left of the dealer. You can hit first and ask for advice from the other players. Most are friendly enough.

Drinks are usually fee. Ask the dealer for change and tip a dollar chip for each drink.

Different games have different etiquette but in general, don’t have cell phones at the table, don’t hand chips directly to dealers, place them on the table, tip the dealers, especially if you win.

Roulette is easy to learn even easier to lose money fast.

Craps seems very confusing at first but you only have to learn a few types of bets and you can play slow (pass line/reverse pass line are some of the best odds at almost 50/50) and keep it going for a while. Low risk low reward of course. If that's not fast paced enough you can do come/don't come bets for more action.

Blackjack requires some skill and memorization in knowing what move to make and people sometimes get pissy if you “take their card” on a move you shouldn’t have made. Sit on the far left if you’re not sure what you’re doing and are afraid of that.

I lik craps... Hardest part is just learning the rules regarding 7, 11, point and come out rolls, but once you get that its easy to play thise simple bets and have decent odds (for a casino). Plus a lively craps table is fun because everyone gets into it. There is some ettiquette around the game though: betting reverse pass line is frowned upon because you're better against the roller, saying "seven" or cheering a number against the table is poor form, etc

like

Sorry I meant sit on the dealers left. The left side (your left) of the table is the anchor position and it has the chance of controlling which card the dealer gets. The first seat (dealers left/your right) is first betting position and you can impact cards players receive. Last position/anchor (dealers right/ your left) has a chance to control the dealers card more directly. Everyone wants the dealer to bust so lots of pressure on anchor not to make a silly move and take a high card

In practice, on low betting tables I rarely see people getting really upset, but it happens.

like

Oh and if the dealer is showing 3,4,5,6 and you have a hard hand (a ten and something else), always stay even if your hand is 13 14 or 15. The goal is to have the dealer bust, not to get to 21 on your own. Monitor a table before playing to make sure the players are playing properly first. The house will probably still win even if everyone is playing “correctly” but it feels worse if you lost because someone fucked it up for the whole table

like

I actually used to deal blackjack. Don’t join in the middle of a shoe if the table is hot. You will change the table’s luck and they will be pissed. Ask before you join. Also, you can refer to what PW3 posted, you just can’t have your phone on the actual table. You can also ask the dealer what the book says to do in certain situations. He/she can tell you without making a recommendation. Everyone above has given you stellar advice.

For blackjack, how important is it to know the dynamic and flow of the table? I understand everyone's playing against the dealer but I'm confused about how each seat has different importance (for example, I was told the last seat is the anchor)

Backjack has the best odds to win at a casino
