So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? A few years in and I’m finding that the people who have made their entire persona “advertising creative” are secretly the most miserable. I’m taking it as a lesson to treat this as a job and not a calling because it’s ultimately pretty empty.

One time a guy creative was presenting his work and said “yeah this was just me being lazy and not wanting to do any work” and he literally suggested we do the same ads as last year, with a different celebrity plugged in. CDs in the meeting laughed and considered it for a minute. If I had presented that and said I was being lazy, I would prob be put on the chopping block.
