I would encourage to look at other options before signing with Paycom. We use Paycom at a 500 employee agency and we’ve had issue after issue beginning during our implementation 3 yrs ago. Their sales team is incredible and sold us on capabilities they do not have. We’ve also had issues with file feeds and connections with all of our other platforms and it’s caused tons of manual work for us. Also worth noting, is our customer support from Paycom used to be strong, but we think they’ve grown so fast that their client service reps are juggling too many clients and just can’t keep up with the volume. We can barely get ours to take a call from us. It’s gone downhill significantly in the past year. Maybe if you are one of their enterprise clients you’ll get a better level of support. We’ve had to get two levels of mgmt involved and we’ve switched reps a few times.
I’ve used ADP in the past, so have members of my team and so has our finance team and we’d like to make the switch when we have bandwidth for an implementation, likely next year.
I would encourage you to consider ADP or something else before finalizing with Paycom. Good luck.
Go with Paycom. ADP Workforce Now is complete garbage. Paycom isn’t perfect. I implemented it 3 years ago and it does almost everything we need. Service is much better than ADP.
I have used ADP with my previous employer as my current employer uses Paychex. I actually can say that I miss ADP. To me, everything flowed well rather than being so click happy like Paychex. ADP just seemed like a good fit for the industry I was in. The only thing I did not like about ADP was that every few months they would have updates, almost to make the layout ‘prettier’. However, it wasn’t a big update that would have you looking for things.
Hope that helps but good luck.
I disagree with the comments that WFN is garbage. I feel that's a bit harsh. I have used WFN for about a year and a half and used ADP Vantage in the past. ADP has improved by leaps and bounds in the last few years. I feel that it is pretty intuitive, but I also have a knack for navigating systems and reporting. I build out simple guides (ADP provides guides as well) for my new managers/hires and anytime we launch a new utility (i.e. performance management ). We use it for payroll, time and attendance, benefits management, performance and comp, goal setting, SmartCompliance and they do all of our tax filings as well. I have had positive interactions when I call in for help and our payroll account manager is great (but I know there are some bad ones out there). Our employees find it very easy to use as well and we provide them guidance to make sure they get the most out of it. With any system, it's going to depend on your business needs and how you work within a system. If ADP isn't working for you, then it may be worth switching to a new system, but you could explore your pain points with your account rep and see if there are some other utilities that would be helpful or learning opportunities that would elevate your skills in the current system before making the leap to something new that you have to completely relearn.
