Probably not. “Dream” jobs are still jobs for most people and the “dream” often starts to fade pretty quickly when you’re working the same amount doing similar things for less pay. It’s one of the reasons you see a lot of turnover in sports and entertainment — most people decide the “cool” tax is not worth paying and it’s fairly unlikely you end up the GC of Disney. Just my 2 cents.
I turned down my dream job bc the numbers didn't crunch and I had a good job already. Cried about it and second guessed myself the better part off a year. Now I've come to terms and I know it was the right decision for me, questions given my broader life goals beyond just career.
Make sure it’s a city you actually want to live in and there are other options if the job doesn’t work out. I moved to a city for a job and it wasn’t somewhere I really wanted to live and there weren’t a lot of other firms to move to.
If it is a better job for your career, take it. Seriously, what do you have to lose?
