Fake it till you make it
Where’s the job at? You’d be surprised at the limited skill set possessed by some of your potential coworkers.
What makes you think they think that? Unless you straight up lied to them I feel like theyre not stupid and wouldnt offer you if they thought that
Just do it and learn a lot for the experience !!! So many times we underestimate ourselves.
Fake it till you make it. Be confident and learn it. Consulting is primarily a confidence game and no one will have done exactly the same job at a prior employer before.
Oh hey same!! So I’m right out of college and I got offered a job that an associate was doing and they didn’t give me associate but they gave me senior consultant and it was my first job and I promise you, this is the easiest job. I had to learn a bunch up front about the Army since I didn’t have any military experience but my attitude helped a lot with that and my coworkers are truly the best. I would say go for it. I had the exact same doubt and anxiety all the way through the interview and hiring process and then into my job. I’ve had this job for 5 months, around month 4 I was like yeah, I got this. If it’s just your own self doubt telling you this, tell it to F off, you’ve got great things to do and don’t have time for that.
Always be honest about skills
FITYMI. Also, consider possible scenarios that you are concerned about, then get busy learning and prepare yourself for such situations! Good luck!
I’ve had this happen twice and took the position. I would advise not too, trust your gut it was always painful and you’re fulfilling some deal the companies made without you.
Nah, unless you lied to them. Their offer is based on what YOU can do for them . If you lied, then be prepared for a future "slowdown" of work on your end and start looking for a new one.
Don’t let impersonation syndrome paralyze you from getting this job. If you have the background and can learn more on the job you are fine. Unless you feel like you need to walk in and make decisions. Otherwise give it a shot.
had a similar situation and went with the lower level and then regretted it. just have the audacity and go for it.
Happened to me, I just gave them a salary range higher than I expected they could swing and waited for a better fit which came along very soon after. Little did I know the company would come back with an offer within my range and I still just had to decline.
