I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? That’s not just Big 4 to industry, that’s Big 4 to Big Oil. The energy industry is not kind.
I have an offer too. Did you join yet??
I would tell you Baker Hughes has cut their workforce too lean and they are burning out their teams.
I worked for Halliburton early in my career during one of the booms. Not sure what the offer is for but the oil field/energy industry was and is still to this day the most intense work that I have ever done. I was so busy that even a go-live week now is light work compared to what a normal work week was like at Halliburton. I loved it though. Work started and we were so busy that in the blink of an eye it was the end of your schedule. I will be the first to admit that it’s not for everyone. So buyer beware.
Also, more cutthroat than consulting.
OFS is brutal and goes through cyclical deep, deep RIFs.
Digital Solutions probably has the best work culture out of all the business units.
The 401k match is amazing. They automatically contribute 4% and then they will match up to another 5%....so a 9% contribution from the company total.
Three options are given for healthcare, including a high deductible plan with an HSA which they encourage you to choose by giving you $500 towards your HSA. There are lower deductible options for those who know they have consistent costs/meds covered.
Currently Baker is running very lean and on a hiring freeze / pay freeze. Quite an odd move from them when you consider the labor market. They are already way too lean/losing people from key roles. This pay freeze could cause talent to leave in droves, but we will see.
I’ll second this. I work for Digital Solutions. I’ve worked exclusively from Home for 12 years now and basically make my own schedule.
Did you joined baker hughes? Have an offer and trying to make up mind to join
