Hi Fishes, I've accepted offer from Accenture from their portal.. But now got new offer from EY and wants to join at EY. So how can I tell Accenture Accenture India that I'm not going to join them. Rather than not showing up on the date of joining? Can you please guide me? How do I let them know? My talent coach is not reachable

I have also been working "in school" and "distant" subbing jobs, often blended, with kids in person and on the computer at the same time. My experience has been similar to the previous post. I do feel very safe in the general ed classrooms. But I also take a lot of SPED jobs, working in person with those students. It is often impossible to maintain distance from those students. They simply need physical assist. There is also plenty of contact with saliva soaked masks and other body fluids. Because of these aspects of the job, I think SPED teachers and subs should receive top priority for the vaccine.
One complaint I have is that sub teachers in our district did not receive any training on running a class via google meet. We were thrown out their and had to figure things out for ourselves. Often, the students will teach me tricks and "how to"s.
I have learned a couple of important tricks while subbing distantly on the computer.
-Try to have students ALWAYS have their camera on so you can see them. But this is not always possible with poor internet connections.
-I always bring my own laptop, and sign in to the class-meet in addition to the signing in with the main computer I am given. This helps in 2 ways;
1) I can still see all the students and the Chat if/when I am presenting something
2)Our internet is sketchy, and I often, (VERY Often) get kicked off of the meet with one computer. It can take a long period of time to get back into the class meet, so I can still communicate with the students via my own computer.
-I always copy, paste the CHAT after class and share it with the teacher in my sub report. Sometimes it is very helpful to identify student misunderstandings or misbehaviors.
I have had some crazy experiences as well; like 6th graders creating and organizing their own separate google meet when cameras are off. They post it in the chat, I didn't know what it was, but they did, and several left the class to be on their own. The only way I found out about this was when I called on students and they did not respond. Other students let me in on why they were not responding.
I have also had HS students vaping, laying down in bed, and/or looking at their cell phones and more instead of paying attention. It can be challenging. I have very little leverage as a sub.
I have been doing both in school and virtual subbing. In school district, the classes are small we then usual and the seats are spaced apart. Everything is masked and the kids pretty much stay in their rooms - specials and lunch are in the room. They go out for recess and beg for mask breaks. We generally have a couple students who are virtual also, so you have to remember to include and engage them as well.
😊 thanks!
Wow-- you are amazing! Appreciate the hints-- such a learning curve for all.
