How old are you and how many eggs are you expecting to retrieve?
Have you done a retrieval before? I found it pretty hard on my body and was glad I had some time to recover before a transfer.
No, first time. I’m 28.
For my first retrieval, I had two embryos and opted for a fresh transfer and then to test and freeze the other. The fresh transfer wasn’t successful, and so I decided with my second retrieval to do all frozen, all tested, before moving forward.
For me, the cost was the same… it was testing per round.
If you’re 28 without any health issues your doctor would probably just tell you to do a fresh transfer.
He gave me all three option. I was leaning towards a hybrid version. Of testing all, except the fresh transfer one. But I don’t know if that would make sense.

I think it depends on age. I’m 39 and I had 21 eggs retrieved. 9 blastocysts but only 4 were normal and that was “high” more often than not you’re going to have an abnormal embryo the older you get so if you’re over 35 I’d say test and freeze. Not worth the chance of miscarriage. If under then I think you can get away with fresh.
If money is not an issue I would do testing bc there’s nothing really to lose.
Great numbers at 39!
I would get them tested. You lose a little time but the heartbreak of it not working is far worse
I started my 3 cycles from 28 and now 30. I’ve done all fresh transfers and haven’t tested due to age. Have 2 kids and a third now on the way and have 6 frozen (untested) embryos.
Yes
I would risk it, read medical documents I think due to your age you’re in such a good spot. I did a fresh successful cycle and much older than you. Good luck!!!
Was it really difficult on your body?
