Has anyone else been walked out the door right after giving their 2-week notice? I just found out the hard way that two weeks' notice might not always be the smartest move. Now I’m stuck scrambling to get by until my new job starts, and honestly, I’m questioning if I’ll ever give more than a week's notice in the future. It's usually the right thing to do, but I'm feeling bitter right now. Thoughts?

I was able to stay only 3 days of the 10 and then was literally escorted outside to my car lol

Yes. I was escorted out and given a month’s worth of pay and full benefits for the month. 👋🏼 byyyyye.

It’s so unfair when they react like that. You’re doing the right thing, and they make it so hard.

See, the two weeks is a courtesy somebody made in the 70s to hold people over until they find somebody for the person leaving to train. The times are different and you don't necessarily have to do that. If they want you gone they give you a moments notice. It's petty and revenge full what they did, make sure you got your vacation pay and Thank God you are out of there. It's horrible what they did..but that's how these companies treat employees.

like

Hmm you may have a case against them for retaliation. Also you may be able to get unemployment. Look into that.

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I did it! I got an in-house Paralegal position after years of working and being burned out at different law firms. I was going to leave the legal field all together because I was so burned out and depressed, but I decided to give the field one more chance if I was able to go in-house. Prayerfully, this transition will be a good one.

My boss (atty) is so disorganized! I’ve been with him 6 months and he’s having a hard time delegating, sharing info and managing deadlines. I’ve organized the caseload to manage the deadlines. He says he wants me to help with discovery but when I offer to start on one, he says he needs to do it. (Since he might have to present as evidence) When I give him deadlines and ask for the docs he says he’ll get to it. It’s a small 1 man firm, and I’m the first assistant besides his wife. Any advice?

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.
