I haven't personally. I met a woman on my way to one of the races who had been hooked up with a paddock pass through one of her friends who was an events manager of some sort for F1, and had also been hooked up at a couple prior races.
She said there were a couple of types of people in the paddock club.
- people who were because it's a scene, a place to go and be fancy
- people who are big fans of the sport and for whom it was a real event (honeymoon, etc)
The people in the latter category generally loved it and really appreciated it.
She gotten to speak with Lewis Hamilton when he went around the tables in the paddock club, and she and her son had met Daniel Ricciardo in the paddock at another race.
Hoping to go to a race this year, later in the summer. Was going to spring for one of the F1 experience packages, which is still kind of pricey but we'll see how it goes. At one of the other races I ended up getting a bus trip around the track, and it was actually much cooler than expected. So I'm looking forward to the hosted track drive on the flatbed!
Never had the paddock club access but had the opportunity to do pit lane walk in Austin a few times and really cool but can get crowded and you're on one side of the fence and can't get up to the garage. one year a friend of mine was doing some hotel reservation work for Force India and she got us in the garage, got to talk to mechanics, see the back room and engine out of the car, hold and check out one of the steering wheels, was close up when they test fired one of the car. But we where not allowed in the paddock area out back. Similar experience can be included or had as a paddock club person, plus your usually right over the garage area, drivers and team members often come up for special visits. Very expensive but if you can afford it why not especially for special circumstance.
