Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Yes, but in both cases I had the title in hand and I don’t recall it being anything burdensome. Is it not clear on the SOS website? Do you have the title or does the lender have it?

the worst part is all the fees 😢

I did ~ 3.5 years ago. it wasn’t that bad except for the $$. the secretary of state website lists all the paperwork you need.
building off the above - I had the title since the car was paid off.
what’s your specific ? - feel free to DM

I bought a used car in CA and drove it back to IL with a CA title in hand. It was an easy process at the SOS office to transfer the title to my name.
I’ve done this twice in the last year. A total nightmare with a car that was an out-of-state lease. A mini nightmare with a car that was obtained from an aunt who was recently deceased. Read the website carefully. Then read it again. I went to the vehicle services DMV on Lexington and they had this greeter guy named Michael who totally saved me one day. That’s actually a decent facility and the lines are never very long
Got an out of state used car with some financing. Thinking of going to the DMV at Lombard or Lexington on a Saturday. Any thoughts on which is less crowded?
Also, can one complete all the paperwork at the location of is it highly recommended to complete online?
I’ve gone to the Lombard location many times. Get there 10-15 min before they open and you should be fine.
I’ve driven by during lunch time and seen lines through the parking lot....
Go to the DMV with the title. It's not hard but it's going to cost some money.
Basically you just need the title, your IL insurance, and a check for SOS. In other states you need to get an inspection and have tax documents filed with the city you live in
@AlixPartners1 - they do take cc with a 3% service charge
Thank you everyone! Went to the bank to get the title transfer notarized then went to SOS where the entire process was super easy as people suggested.
