Absolutely. During the Great Recession I was certain that I would be laid off bc I was the last hire, but I was not selected. When I asked my boss about it months later he said my name was never even brought up as a possibility. I was very fortunate- you never know for sure where leadership is at.
It is a scary thing to have on your mind. I’m sorry and I hope it works out for you.
Layoffs are actually much more common in the legal field that people realize. Many before you survived it, you'll survive it too. Spend no more than a week or so feeling sorry and then start getting applications out. Soon, you'll laugh that you questioned whether or not you'll survive this.
Multiple times, including this past month. I thought the writing was on the wall but I must have misread it.
Yes I survived layoffs and got basically told I should probably leave 6 months after that so I spent 6 months searching for and finding a job
I’m going thought it now and praying and keeping my faith that all will work out!
Thank you for the prayers!
Yes! I was laid off from NM Legal Aid in February but saw it coming so started applying for other positions a couple of months before then. It took forever and nearly 40 applications, but I’m proud to say that I am now an assistant district attorney, and I’m really happy.
I’m sorry you went through that but am so happy you came out in the other side! Seems like you came out of this even better off in the end, though I’m sorry it caused pain and anxiety first
