My LM is so keen on small small things, not related to coding but documentation and all. Atleast once in a week I'm committing mistakes on small documentation points n he is stressing on same. Are there any chances that my probation will not be extended or is it a clue for me from my LM. He is Looping his LM and asking questions/clarifications.
Should I ask him directly or can be ignored or need to try outside. Please suggest Barclays
Dang, sorry I meant to comment on the post!

I used them for a six month contract. They got butts in seats, though I had to push them to get the numbers up. I did 4 seminars, had a few people watch and five me feedback. One was a toastmasters participant for years and liked the topic and my presentation. From each seminar I'd get 75 people who would register and around 15 to 20 to show up. Then get maybe 5 to ask for a callback and maybe 1 appointment. Most appointments were with people who weren't very impressive clients. I asked them to let me out of the last month of the contract and Nick, the owner, said no. They had me speak to about 4 prospective customers to tell them.of my experience and I did, without any filter, which advisor fuel knew, so my words weren't all rosy for sure. I did that as a favor and pointed that out to them when I asked to be let out of the last month of my contract. It was a money grab for them. They got money for no work. Very unappreciative and lacking vision. Short sighted decision that shows me a lack of moral character. I didn't fight it with a lawyer. Would've paid more to a lawyer than I would've gotten back. But I can tell my opinion now. I'd not use them again. Not one good prospect out of 4 seminars, and they act like a vendor, not a partner. My 2 cents.
THEY’RE TRASH. RUN! HIDE!
It was late last year that this happened
I had a couple calls with them. Something didn’t smell right, so didn’t sign up.
I used them too. 6 months then left. They fill the seats with unqualified leads. 30 - 40 registered. 10 - 12 people show. Mostly women (Facebook), a lot of minorities, usually only 1 decision maker aka very few couples, very little transparency on location of targets. I got approximately $1M in AUM after 6 months. Too much time, too much effort, too much money for quality of prospects
Their site is advisorfuel.com
Great.. how long ago was that? Anyone else?
And I totally agree the “advisor” talking them up was likely a fake account
Thank you all for the input. Can anyone suggest any alternatives?
You can do the digital marketing for your seminar yourself low cost and low effort
Flyers in local newspaper!!
FA3 what has worked for you in terms of flyers? I guess I have been assuming newspaper advertising is relatively dead
I'm doing a seminar through one of the local adult ed outfits this week. I have very low expectations from it. There will be about 10 people which will allow me to be more personal and craft answers in such a way that compels them to make an appointment. It cost me nothing, will take me an hour, and seemed like I won't have anything to lose. If nothing else, it is good public speaking practice and maybe I'll help some people who aren't a fit for me as a client but could use the help. Worth a shot.
IA1 - yeah nick threatened to send the account to collections and we were in month 2 of the contract, that’s how they make their money is assuming enough people won’t fight them on it. In our case we finally got rid of them thanks to our contract attorney
The 1st one I did was really bad, I talked to Nick, and numbers did get better in terms of butts in seats. Still not quality people though. But I was making small changes on my end to improve and nothing helped. It took me 4 seminars to work it through and get a track record. By the time I was talking to him, I was only looking for one month off. He wasnt having it. A little of a dick at the end. But I wont be going back to him at all. If I do this again, I'll use a local social media person to partner with.
I remember the posts. I inquired and spoke to Nick, but never did business with him.
I recently used a company called Acquire Direct. They fill seminars the old fashioned way with postcards in the mail. Not cheap, but no long term commitments. Last seminar had 15 couples registered, 9 couples showed, 7 were good qualified prospects, set 6 appointments. We’ll see how they go!
It was 69 cents per invitation sent. We targeted a small town. Acquire Direct ran a list and gave us the demographics of how many people in the area were within target. We decided to mail 3600. I think it’s cheaper per invite after 5000, but we didn’t have a big enough pool in the small town. So that was ~$2400 just to get the invites sent. They handled creating the list, scrubbing, printing, mailing, and RSVPs.
The cost of the actual dinner was on me. Small town hotel was $14/head. Not bad there.
Between the mailing and the dinner I was in about $3k.
Based on conversations at the event, I was in front of about 3million in assets which fell into the demographic we targeted of around $150k in investable assets.
Time will tell if I’m able to gather many of the assets, but I am hopeful!
Not bad. Follow up with an update if you can!
