Yes- zero regrets about the down time

like

We are primarily closed, but I also handle some work for some out of state attorneys also on a contract basis, so I’ve just been doing their depo transcript summaries and earning money, while also doing any work needed at the firm since I’m completely caught up on my case load and also not required to work during this time, really. I’m just the managing paralegal so I ensure I’m able to assist with all other paralegals and support staff. I also work from home too, so it makes it easier to juggle.

I am so busy I could cry.

like

Consistently busy

It’s been pretty quiet for me but I can’t enjoy it because it’s messing with my billable hours. Not so great when you have a requirement.

like

Ain’t that the truth. Best of luck to you

To those with too much work, it’s a problem I wish I had at this time (currently unemployed). To those with not a lot of work right now, enjoy this down time. As we know, it all ebbs and flows. Whatever your situation, have a happy and healthy end of the year, folks.

like

💯 this. Think it will be quiet for me until the 2nd week of January. In house now so enjoying the down time!

Same here! Happy holidays!!

I have 14 cases with discovery deadlines on the 23rd and was out with Covid last week 🥲

like

Again, cruel and unusual. Feel better!!!

like

Nope. Was hoping for some down time to take care of some of the less urgent tasks that pile up, but so far no luck.

like

I’ve had a bunch of little ancillary deals to work on but no one’s been doing anything big for a few months now (NYC real estate).

like

Nope, have a ton of discovery due the day after Christmas.

like

Cruel and unusual

like

Yep. Thankfully I already hit my billing requirement, because there is zero billing happening right now.

like

Very slow in the ethics department. I guess next year we’ll hear all about lawyer’s misconduct during the holidays 😂

funny

I have trial January 18, so I’ll be lucky if I don’t have to work on Christmas Day.

like

I’m in-house and things are slowing down nicely for the holidays. Grateful that I am no longer in the high-stress end-of-year big law grind. Happy holidays to all!

like

Exact opposite! Tons of work to do, no attention span to do it!!

like

I wish!! 😩

Im pretty busy lol

😞 working because it’s really busy.

Yes. I went begging for work and am now putting together an eClosing Binder with 135 docs in it.

Catching up on less urgent items that have been on my plate for months. 😃

I just recently got an offer from a smaller AI company for 95k that I plan to accept. I’m happy to make the jump, I just don’t know how my manager/coworkers will react when I tell them I’m leaving.

If 2+ people submit a referral on your behalf at their company for a position you recently applied for, does it make you stand out even more/increase your chances of getting an interview vs. just 1?
