I just accepted an offer in writing. The new job will start the background check next which I’ve been told it may take a while to complete. My start date at the new job isn’t until 2023 so there is some time for me to turn in my notice. I don’t anticipate any hiccups in the background check but is it wise to wait until the background check is complete before turning in my notice?

Help - my offer just got accepted and I need to secure mortgage within 30 days. What are the hidden things I need to consider apart from interest rates. My preapproval has decent rate (2.75%) but I feel closing is high at $16k. Also lists transfer taxes that seller is expected to pay and I’m not sure if seller is aware. It also says I may not be able to refinance this loan. I’m immigrant and slightly overwhelmed and want to hear best tactics used while shopping around. Thanks in advance

Put house on the market at what realtor thinks is a fair value. So far (only five showings) everyone likes the house but says it’s too expensive given updates they’d want to make (they don’t say what but I’m guessing updating the bathrooms as example).
