Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

It's absolutely a good idea to update your resume now and then, just to give it a good look and see what you may want to sharpen. As for using AI, I think using that to write your resume is just sad. It's not like writing a resume is difficult, you're just recounting your own career. Turning that simple task over to a tool that will make it sound generic just doesn't make a lot of sense.
Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been thinking about using it!

It is good to provide you with an alternative perspective when reviewing your resume, but do not trust it blindly and submit without scrutinizing it yourself.
Also, it is not foolproof. I asked ChatGPT to score my resume and it came back with an 8.5 while providing enhancements to consider implementing to improve the document. When I applied them and asked it to score my resume after the changes were applied, it gave a lower score.
AI is a tool, but is far from perfect.
That’s what I was thinking too!
I do every month or so. It’s super helpful context and gives great wording help.
