Well I’m really over Chicago and need a change I have spent all my life in the Midwest and it’s boring af
Would be helpful to share what you’re interested in for folks to weigh in on the pros/cons of moving to DFW.
Better climate, more space, lower taxes, lower crime

Dallas is #1 in the country for auto accidents and our insurance rates reflect that 🤩
Moved here from the northeast and it’s been incredibly difficult to make friends here. Prob moving back it northeast next year

My friend did from Chicago but he ended up moving back because he couldn’t handle the heat and lack of outdoor activities
F because I’m moving to dallas & I’m originally from chicago lol
Moved from downtown Chicago to an area around Plano. Obviously not a good comparison there but I have been pleasantly surprised with the diversity of DFW food (restaurants, supermarkets).
In terms of outdoors diversity, nothing is going to compare to the Chicago lakefront but I have enjoyed parks I’ve been to around DFW, including White Rock Lake, Oak Point, and Breckinridge.
While I personally preferred being indoors during Chicago winters, being indoors during TX heat waves seems to make me more stir crazy.
Like any area with a lot of people, you will find your tribe and places/activities you enjoy. And if you don’t, there are two major airports to get you somewhere else 😉

Moved to Dallas (uptown) about 1 year ago for work. Definitely less walkable, but Ubers are dirt cheap compared to Chicago. I lived in West Village and appreciated the walkability there. Def need a car here vs Chicago where I didn’t have a car.
Getting to grocery store, work, gym, etc. Public transit isn’t as extensive here as it is in Chicago. You can certainly do it. I took the bus to work from uptown to downtown, but it’s not as reliable and most stops only pick up every 30mins.
Low crime in Denton County, better schools, better government, no state income tax
