With more RTO in the recent months it's bound to happen
As well as construction season starting.
Vancouver drivers are honestly the worst I’ve ever seen. There seems to be this fear of changing lanes. So you get 10 cars lined up behind one car turning left, and nobody will go around. Then the only car that makes it through the light is the one going left, and people at the previous light couldn’t get through cause they’d block the intersection.
Places I’ve spent a substantial amount of time driving: BC, AB, ON, QC, NY, PA, IL, WA, OR, CA.
Out of all those places, I think BC legitimately has the worst drivers.
I decided to drive to work and it took me an hour and a half to make it the 10km. That's the worst I've ever seen it. That was during peak hour though. It's improved very slightly since then but it's still really busy.
Yeah! :( There's a lot of people not taking public transport, though I have noticed it's busier on the train again this year that it was last year. Secondly, a lot of people that were working from home have gone back to the office, increasing traffic. People that may have once car pooled are likely driving themselves. There's many factors attributing to the traffic.
Yeah but I would have said the last few years. I remember having one of my rare days off work and going for a drive at 11am and it was chockers. I was like, wtf where are these people going? Do they not have jobs?!
Same for the weekend honestly. Roads used to be dead on a sunday but now there are cars everywhere all day.
Maybe I'm just old.
Yes. I ride a bike to work and I've noticed a lot more cars on the road, and traffic banked up through city and parkland streets.
OH MY GOD !! Thought I was the only one, literally has been ridiculous lately. My usual car park had a line up and I had to find another one for the first time ever.
Population isn't going down anytime soon.. car sales in the millions each year.. I doubt the traffic is going to get easier anytime soon lol...
I think a lot of people who used to catch public transport now drive, and I know in the public sector at least mostly everyone is being asked to return to the workplace now.
Yea. I only started driving a manual a month ago and today was the most painful day in traffic and my leg got a good work out. God help me.
Yes! I'd love to not have to drive, but there is no efficient public transport in my area that would get me to work on time.
People going places.
I would imagine what you're seeing is normal traffic. You've just gotten used to seeing a reduced level.
