I craft and sell things on Etsy, but I’d hardly call it a business… not enough time to prep things and sit down crafting, just eventually :)
Also, generally speaking, if you have loads of various things you don’t need, I suggest trying to declutter from time to time and sell things on eBay or platforms alike :) not really a business but can be done from time to time, and I made quite a lot in the past few years :) all earnings go into ETFs and dividend paying stocks :) so kind of long term thing :)

That’s fun!
My wife and I started a home-based business selling Mexican food. We only fulfilled orders on weekends cos both of us had full time jobs. Word got out among the Latino community that we were selling authentic Mexican food. They introduced us to their non-latino friends who only knew tex-mex food and they loved it too..At first we accepted orders on WhatsApp, IG and FB. It was messy so we decided to accept orders via an online platform. Over the next 4 years, we built up a loyal customer base. When I left my full time job due to health reasons, I decided to expand the business while my wife still held her full time job. We participated in food pop ups and collaborated with museums, embassies and international schools. Our loyal online fan base followed us wherever we went. About 1.5 years later, an established Mexican food chain heard about us and decided to start a joint venture with us. We will unplug ourselves from the business operations by this year and it will run on its own.

Yes, I ran a small short-term rental out of the in-law unit at my house, and I also have an investment property. It’s been pretty sustainable for me.
