Definitely going to be a hard sell, but smaller companies or more creative hiring (ad agency) might help. Try to show something more than just substantive auditing, stuff like analysis, account management, sales (if you've gotten involved), managing clients, etc. Network like hell.
I want to transition to marketing too.
Very interesting, I'd love to be in marketing. Double majored in both
It's a good position! A lot of analyzing work, but definitely a job I'm interested in. I just hope I'm able to sell myself enough with my finance/PA background haha
Ya same here !!! That's awesome though it pays more and it seems they were ok with your experience ?
Awesome!! Let me know how that goes but that's one of the best scenarios going from PA to marketing! And hopefully the people are more down to earth which I think would be the case!!
I'll keep you all posted!! I probably won't find out more until next week but I shall return with some news 🤞🏻😊
Good luck! Please share your interview experience here!!
How can I see myself in the interview though? I got the analysis part down, but what else could I focus on? Some ideas?
Is the pay less ?
Nope. More actually! Like $5,000 more. But money isn't a huge factor. Getting out of PA and enjoying what I do is my main goal
Yeah!! I honestly just applied to it because I thought the job description made it seem like it would be enjoyable. And because it only required as much as a bachelors in business or finance or marketing. I have that and a Masters plus 4-5 years in banking/finance/accounting when they were looking for 2+. The only two things I didn't qualify for were SQL skills and not having a lot of knowledge about the industry, but the recruiter said it wouldn't work against me because I would learn that on the job. Fingers crossed!
