These kids are a very different generation. I feel the same way you do too!! It's not easy but I agree the kids are exposed to too much online platforms. Parents need to step up and monitor what their kids are watching online.
If this means old lady status, I guess so be it. I'm right there with you. The world these kids are growing up in is so different from the one I experienced as a child. It makes me both concerned and sad. I don't blame parents for having to rely on screens from time to time, but I hope they're at least policing the content that's being watched.

I tell the kids that there is school talk, and home talk. In our class we use school talk and I teach them to use standard English. I am old school and I don’t think that kids calling adults “bruh” or “dude” is cute or funny.
Rising Star
I had a principal once who had a 4-year old try to flip him the bird, but the poor kid couldn’t do the finger manipulation and had to use his other hand to push his three fingers down. While cute and laughable on one side, the other side shows how much home learning we have to overcome when they get to us. God bless you, my lower elementary colleagues!
The kindergartners could have picked up “bruh” from older sibs
I don't know that YouTube has that much to do with how kids talk. We learned new lingo from regular TV, or from just talking to people. And kids today have a whole world of memes on various social sites. If I had to guess what's influencing language today I'd say TikTok, I think kids pick up the rhythm of TikTok if not the lexicon.
I try not to be too judgmental of parents. However, it is hard to deny that kids are getting way too much screen time these days.
Teach them how to properly address you. Kindergarten is the perfect time. Do not accept or respond to "bruh." It's like the commercial where the adults are talking to the mom and using the word, "bruh." When her son uses it, she politely, but firmly, says, It's Mom to you."
Bad behavior can sometimes seem amusing when little kids do it, but correcting it immediately needs to be done so it doesn't become a habit.
OP- I get you. I’ve worked w first and second graders that love watching YouTube. Many times they’re watching more inappropriate, scary or violent clips or shows. Parents have no idea when I call them. Or do they?
I always ask elementary kids, what do you watch on YouTube assuming they watch it. They tell me straight up and sometimes in great , or they’ll say, oh I’m not allowed on YouTube or they’ll say, i watch ppl game. What kind of games, I watch so and so play Mario cart or Roblox.
Behavior and language is affected. Increase in behavioral problems and profanity, in my experience.
Also, I’ve been talking to friends I’ve worked w as I’m retired. Teachers are having a rough time (crying etc) and behaviors are off the charts
I hope your class settles down and becomes the best class ever.
