If everything is urgent, then nothing is urgent.
I’m tired of the fast paced environment and then also everyday hearing about mass layoffs and wondering how I will have a job
Rising Star
I think it’s the nature of a service oriented industry. Clients are trained that agencies will respond to their every whim, at any time. So.
Seriously. ASAP doesn’t mean anything anymore, it’s basically implied, and the work (and more importantly the people) suffer for it.
I feel like most people here have a job that's slow until its fast and vice versa, and don't get paid enough.
Preach.
Genuinely asking: for your title and planners in general, what sort of fast-paced changes do you encounter?
Our creative, comms planning, account, and production folks feel the early timing crunches and the late pivots the most, but our brand planners tend to have it pretty easy, comparatively.
Oh, wow. Our brand planners don’t touch anything past the upfront.
We talk, of course, and align on changes—but if it’s in your section, it’s your responsibility to make sure gets done.
Regarding measurements, our brands have all the data anyway, so we never have access to anything our clients don’t know already.
Honestly, sounds like you have a ton more going on than most of the strategists I’ve worked at across agencies.
