OP I actually have successfully propagated rosemary. I found these directions on a blog, followed them, and it worked like a charm! Let me know if you follow them how it turns out. In mid-May or June, select a healthy rosemary plant with new growth and use a sharp knife to take 3-in cuttings from young shoots. Remove the bottom half of the leaves and dip the cuttings in rooting hormone. Place the cuttings in a pot of compost or well-draining potting soil, cover with plastic wrap, and put in indirect light. Keep the cuttings moist and when new growth appears, remove the plastic and transplant to a new location. With proper care, the cuttings should develop roots and grow into new plants by autumn.
