Bootstrapping a startup is easy. Focus on building the startup before trying to do AMAs
This was quite a bit ago - we are profitable and have thousands of users!
Did you just want people to ask questions, or were you ever going to answer them?
Not gonna lie I’m not as online as I used to be and my FB notifs are off, my bad
May the odds be in your favor! I did the same thing end of last year, and I’m currently earning half of my previous salary but I couldn’t be happier.
Love to see it and good luck to you as well!

Do you put peanut butter or jelly on your sandwich first?
Jelly, so I can use the same knife for peanut butter and it comes off easier

I like to think I’m versatile
I worked for a new private sector company moving into my state, a great on paper company that made many promises. Then it became a micromanagement nightmare to the point that the company had to know when you're using the restroom and that you're following protocol in every interaction. Their programs were on one single server, this alone caused chaos with documentation. We kept a hard file and the computer file. If I checked to ensure everything was correct in both files on Friday, by Monday certain uploads were lost and it was my fault. No one in management believed that it was the server. I left after a year, then discovered that they actually did not take out funds or contribute to a 401K. 5 years later and they did not keep their bid in the state and now are on their way out. We told them the issues, even in my exit interview I was professional in stating the issues and they continued to have high turnover. Common sense just isn't common anymore.
How much do you earn now
How long ago did you bootstrap / how long did it take to match current comp
What biz was this? Services? Goods?
Also, why pay yourself high Comp if you can control your income/tax rate, unless hypothetically speakingyou are earning more but justhavent paid yourself
May the odds be forever in your favor.
Fingers crossed

How long before you head back to consulting
Never most likely, I’ve done my time
I work 10-14hr days as a consultant rn. I see the same in people who are 20 years my senior. I see zero point in continuing this career path. What’s the point of money if you’re never there to enjoy it.
I have a side hustle that makes $30k/yr rn. Very low effort. I know I could maybe make the start up thing work. The idea of a sweaty start up is appealing to me.
How has it been?
Incredible learning experience. Very scary at first to start but imo extremely worth it, it’s easier than ever to build something on a budget these days and the growth + learning + potential upside far surpass consulting
In what field?
What’s the start up do?
Did the same 6months ago. Best decision of my life. It’s hard but it’s so rewarding.
