Get a Porsche

This would be my choice
You have a fair amount of options in this price range. This includes some examples of rear engine v8s (308, 328, 348, 355, 360, 430), front engine v12 coupes (550, 575, 599), front engine v12 four seaters (400/400i, 456, 612), front engine v12 convertibles (California), and front engine v12 shooting brakes (FF). Also some more unusual models like the Mondial and Mondial T.
Many of these will have examples that are a little bit above your price range, depending upon what body style (convertibles or targas generally bring a premium, though not always), transmission (true 6-speed sticks bring a premium), and color combination you prefer.
For example, you can get a 430 in your price range but a 430 stick shift will be above $200k.
I went through this and purchased a 360 spider stick shift in classic red over tan a dozen years ago. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done in the car has been a true joy to own.
You do need to be prepared for significant maintenance costs, particularly if you buy a car that is 10 or 20 years old. Parts are not inexpensive and having a good specialist nearby who knows the cars is absolutely critical. I am fortunate to live near one of the top independent mechanics in the country who has done an excellent job of maintaining the car. Some older models are also notorious for requiring services where the engine needs to be removed every five years or so. That comes at a significant cost, so you are best to be educated and aware. I recommend hanging out on ferrarichat.com which is a terrific resource and a very knowledgeable community.
I've been looking at DB11's and Vantage's. You can get a great low-mile example at that price point.
Around the 150 price point, assuming you dont want anything too vintage, you mainly have three options: California, FF, and F430. And Im not sure id spend my money on those (I like the FF but its not a design for everyone)
If Ferrari is a must, consider stretching your budget for a 458 or 488. Both of those are at or near the bottom of their depreciation curves and you could easily own for a few years, enjoy, and sell for similar money.
Also, consider looking at some options like these: Acura NSX, Mercedes AMG GT, McLaren 570, Lamborghini Huracan. Ill throw the 911 in there too, since its a great car, but Im guessing you want a bit more flash with the styling than that
As long as you're willing to shell out a minimum of $5k for the simplest repair/maintenence
Thank you so much! This is actually amazing advice. For those that say, Porsche’s over Ferrari. Why? Is it primarily the flash factor or something else?
If it is going to be a weekend/fun car, the Ferrari is awesome. If you are going to want to daily drive it you are probably better off with a Porsche due to the flashiness, perception, and general anxiety of driving and parking a Ferrari.
Usage will also impact depreciation significantly differently. Ferraris run better when driven regularly (like most cars), but people are paranoid about putting miles on them or buying cars with miles. Mine is 22 years old and has been driven less than 3k miles/year.
Go to a Ferrari dealer. You’re definitely going to need a preowned one for $150k max spend. The first to pop into my head is the dealer in coral gables Florida, but there are probably many around out west in LA.
You may be able to get into a 2019 Portofino with a sketchy service history… As others have stated, I’d recommend the Porsche 911.
For $150k or under - the best cars you can buy are
C8 Z06
AMG GTR
991.1 turbos
991.2 turbo
991.1 GT3
718 GT4
I would likely go AMG GTR for most insane driving experience & value for $$. C8 Z06 is best performance/sound + a warranty but you can go a lot lower for depreciation…
If you go to $200k - used 458 all day! (Although I’d switch to a 600LT or 991.2 GT3 personally)
I guess it really depends if you’re going for flash or performance I mean, you do realize a lucid air can blow that Ferrari away
Really? What times is the Lucid running the Nürburgring?
You’re gonna want one with a V8 that doesn’t need to be completely taken out of the vehicle to do basic maintenance. A 360 is probably your best bet. 430 is probably second up. Don’t blow your whole budget on the car, leave some change for maintenance. Also a guy looking for a Ferrari is not interested in a 911 people really just don’t get it lol.

I don’t know what you’re talking about. People cross shop 911s and Ferraris all the time.
Maybe not the base models.
But 488 pista and GT2RS
458 and GT3
488 and TurboS
Oh man, Ferrari makes you buy those entry Ferraris that no one wants before you’re allowed to buy the real Ferrari
