Headed to SF for a week in April with family. We agreed on a “do your own thing” day and I want to go hiking. Unfortunately the 4hr drive from SF to Yosemite/Sierra/etc is too much for one day. 1/2

Our favorite hike is called Berry Falls (or something like that) and is <1.5 hours from SF - no views but you’re deep in lush forest with waterfalls and it’s an intense but immensely enjoyable 12 mile hike (took us about 4 hrs)

Marin county also has some nice hikes - most less strenuous but great views

Anyone have a suggestion for a day hike within 2 hrs of SF. Very fit and elevation doesn’t matter. I want to get away for a day and see the quiet parts of Cali.

Muir Woods and point Reyes national seashore are close. https://theoutbound.com/san-francisco/backpacking/backpack-the-glen-camp-loop-via-the-palomarin-trailhead

+1 point Reyes. lots of great coastal trails

Castle Rock state park is also neat

Stinson beach is a good one too
