How is this black face tho? The person in the ad is black. And no one else is resembling a black person in the ad.
How the ketchup is placed around the mouth does heavily resemble minstrel imagery, commonly referred to as black face.
I don’t see anything about this in the article you posted.. am I missing something?

No our teams at GUT might be diverse in the sense of more latino/hispanic over just white but our creatives are quite close minded when it comes to cultural nuance
Yeah minstrel imagery was the very first thing I saw, honestly. I get trying to tie-in with the Joker movie but they definitely missed the mark here.
