I’m one of the only attorneys in my Texas firm that had electricity, internet, and water this week. After a long interview process, I had to decline an offer from Amazon. I was really excited, but they wanted to start me as an L4. I already have offers on the table $15,000 more then the possible top compensation an L4 can get.

What is a simple way to explain to my boyfriend that investing in equity with an expected return of 10% is better than paying off debt that is growing at a rate of 6%. He has student loans and is adamant that he wants to pay all of them off immediately before saving any retirement money. I understand that many individuals use this strategy but I think investing in index funds for the long haul is better from a wealth accumulation perspective, without even factoring in tax implications of 401k

What is your work day like as a manager? I recently made the transition from being an individual contributor to a team manager and I feel that I have time at hand that I'm not using wisely. My day includes giving directions to the team, reviewing their output, aligning plan & work with seniors and clients.
